Worship With Us

Liturgy (literally “the work of the people”) is simply an order of worship within the Anglican tradition. One of the richest aspects of Anglican liturgy is its holistic character as well as its rhythms. Scripture demonstrates that God initiates, creates, and designs liturgy in worship just as he initiates prayer. We respond to God through liturgical worship with our very beings—every part of us glorifying him. As we stand, sit, kneel, sing, recite, raise our hands, listen and pray, we are formed and shaped by the liturgical elements of worship.

At Missio Dei we embrace an “anicent-future” approach to liturgy. This means we take seriously the liturgical movements of our Anglican heritage while also allowing space for modern and contextual expressions in our public worship.

Each of our services includes musical worship, prayer, the reading and teaching of scripture, and Holy Communion.

FAQs

How Should I dress?

Come as you are. There is no right way to dress for church. God asks us to come as we are. He desires nothing more and nothing less.

What if i don’t know what to do?

Our liturgy is meant to be a journey. If you’re new follow along as best you can. If need be, sit back close your eyes and allow yourself to take it all in. As you get a feel for what’s happening participate as you’re able.

Why do your clergy wear collars, stoles, etc.?

The answer is twofold: One, so you know who they are. Two: so that at all times in our worship our focus is on Jesus and not the person leading. For the priest, the collar is a reminder that the priest is a servant of Christ and his people. He or she is above no one and serves all.

How long is your service?

Our services range between and hour and an hour and fifteen minutes, depending on the length of the homily which ranges from 15-20 minutes long.
